Meeting of the Supervisory, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Council of Higher Education in Lorestan Province, with emphasis on strengthening the ranking system, was held.

A meeting of the Supervisory, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Board of Higher Education of Lorestan Province was held, with the Vice-President of the Board emphasizing the strengthening of the ranking system of universities and higher education centers in the province and making the rankings public.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, in this meeting, which was held on Sunday, January 22nd, with the presence of members, in the meeting room of the President's Office of Lorestan University, Dr. Esmaeil Rokrok, Vice-President of the Supervisory, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Board of Higher Education of Lorestan Province, said: "The ranking system of universities and higher education centers in Lorestan Province should, after specialized evaluations, be exposed to the view and judgment of the public, especially students."
Dr. Rokrok, stated: "The evaluation of universities and higher education centers in Lorestan Province should be based on completely specialized indicators."
He added: "Each university and higher education center should know its ranking compared to others, in terms of the indicators of the Supervisory, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Board of Higher Education of the province."
Dr. Esmaeil Rokrok, stated: "The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of universities and higher education centers."
Membership of Islamic Azad University; Strengthening the Convergence of the Province's Higher Education System
Dr. Ali-Heydar Nasrollahi, Secretary of the Supervisory, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Board of Higher Education of Lorestan Province, announced in this meeting that with the notification of the Ministry of Science, from now on, the representative of Islamic Azad University of Lorestan Province will also be a member of the board.
Dr. Nasrollahi considered the membership of the Islamic Azad University representative in the board as a constructive step towards increasing the convergence and synergy of the province's higher education system by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the thirteenth government; because some students are studying at Islamic Azad University.
He asked the presidents of universities and higher education centers in Lorestan Province to each form their own university's supervisory and evaluation council and to use educational and research experts in the composition of the university councils.
The Secretary of the Supervisory, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Board of Higher Education of Lorestan Province asked the presidents of universities and higher education centers in Lorestan Province to prepare and submit a comprehensive and analytical report on the status of their university based on seeing the strengths and weaknesses and drawing a future perspective with an analytical approach, before the end of the current year, to the provincial board.
Dr. Nasrollahi stated that the meetings are held regularly and in each meeting, evaluation reports of universities and higher education centers in Lorestan Province are presented with the aim of strengthening efforts to eliminate weaknesses and improve quality.
It is worth mentioning that the evaluation and supervision report on the performance of the Technical and Vocational University of Lorestan Province and non-profit higher education centers of the province was presented.
Training Skilled Technicians for the Country
Dr. Abdolsamad Hamidi, President of the Technical and Vocational University of Lorestan Province, was present at this meeting and presented a complete and comprehensive report on the Technical and Vocational University of Lorestan Province.
He stated that the main mission of the Technical and Vocational University is to train technical forces to serve the country, who are considered "skilled technicians".
Dr. Hamidi provided statistics that in Lorestan Province, the Technical and Vocational University has five technical and vocational colleges (faculties), and the colleges are single-gender and full-time.
He explained that throughout the country, the Technical and Vocational University has more than 200,000 students.
The President of the Technical and Vocational University of Lorestan Province, stated that 80% of the training of this university is of the "workshop" type.
